Yvette Dardenne has a unique Collection in the World : over 25 years she has brought together thousands of tin boxes. She has of course her place in the Guiness Book of records .
In the outbuildings of an old mill, boxes are piled up, on three floors. The boxes go up against the walls, down the steps, conceal the ground. Magnificent objects, sometimes as small as the nail of an inch, sometimes as imposing as this enormous Zeppelin made for Dutch cocoa Driessen.
In this temple, the boxes that protected the foodstuffs like tea, spices, medicines, chocolate, cakes take the form of a church, a train, animals, flowers, Soldiers, mills, guitars, revolvers, boats, crèches, prams, castles ... They are real works of art.
Today, she has opened her doors for visits and has transformed her place into a museum.
